Alice Altemaire is the UK CEO of Mobilize Financial Services (formerly RCI Financial Services), the captive finance-house for the Alliance automotive brands (Renault, Dacia, Nissan, Mobilize) in the UK.

Alice joined Renault Group in 2005 before moving to RCI Bank & Services in 2010 where she held several positions including Group Controller, CFO of the UK branch – where she launched the first automotive digital savings bank in the UK in 2015 – and Group CFO.

At the same time, Alice led the innovation programme and later became VP of Mobility Service and Innovation, implementing a strategy based on new mobility services and stakes in innovative companies that are now part of the new Renault Group brand “Mobilize”. As the automotive industry and customers’ needs are evolving, Mobilize FS has a role to play by supporting the Alliance brands in gaining new territories via digitalization, services and subscriptions as well as creating a sustainable mobility for all the customers, for instance by financing charging infrastructure for private individuals, fleet and of course dealerships.

Alice has overseen the implementation of the Mobilize FS sustainability strategy, which saw the company reach net-zero in 2020, and its commitment to cut emissions by 50% by 2030.

In addition, RCI Bank, Mobilize FS retail bank in the UK, was the first private bank to offer a green saving product in 2021, the e-Volve Saver account.

Last year, Alice was appointed non-executive director of United Trust Bank.

David is part of the Automotive Finance Advisory Board.

David Betteley started his career in Financial Services as a graduate trainee with Lloyds and Scottish Finance (part of the Lloyds Bank Group) in Manchester in the late 70’s. In 1989 he joined the International Motors Group (IM) to set up their in-house Finance Company in the UK to support the Hyundai and Subaru brands.

Staying with IM, he moved to Sweden in 1992 to run the vehicle distribution operations for IM in Scandinavia, Russia and the Baltic states. In 1996 he moved back to the UK to become MD of Vauxhall Finance and successfully managed the transition from 7 branches to one central location. In 1998 he was recruited by Toyota to insource their Financial Services operations in the UK. He went on to become a Senior Vice President when he had the responsibility for overall operations, sales and marketing and the development of new markets for both Toyota and Lexus in the Europe and Africa region.

During this 12 year period at Toyota he also served as a Pension Trusteee which gives him good experience to serve in a similar capacity at JLR. In 2010 David joined Jaguar Land Rover as Global Financial Services Director, retiring in July 2017. David now works as an independent advisor to Genpact Ltd and other companies. His main non-executive role has been as Chairman of the Finance and Leasing Association in the UK during the period May 2007 to May 2010.

David holds an MBA from Aston Business School Outside work his time is mainly devoted to his family. However he enjoys the occasional game of golf and still follows closely the fortunes of Manchester City.

She has more than 21 years experience in the asset finance industry and is known for being robust and commercial. Previously, David established and led the Energy Directorate at WMG where he led a team of over 200 researchers and engineers. Karima brings a wealth of technical as well as industry sector experience having implemented several pan-European solutions and business change for major OEM and captive finance clients. She graduated as a Computer Scientist and began her career at EDS working with GM Financial. Later roles have included roles at Volkswagen Group, Client Services Director at White Clarke Group (now Solifi), CIO at Mercedes Benz UK and a stint in Daimler AG in Stuttgart before setting up her own consultancy, Auto Novo in 2015.

Marcella Merli has been appointed as Head of CA Auto Bank Italia as of 4 April 2023.

Furthermore, she has been Country Manager CA Auto Bank Belgium until September 2023.

Merli began her career in 2002, in the Financial Services sector of Targasys in Arese, where she worked in the Marketing department. In the following year, she joined Savarent’s Marketing department to work on Long Term Rental. She became Marketing Manager at Savarent in 2006.

Merli joined FCA Bank in 2009 and held various positions of increasing responsibility. In 2011, she was appointed as Brand Manager for Jaguar & Land Rover at the group level. From May 2016, she served as Group Head of Sales and Marketing until July 2020 when she became the Country Manager of the Belgian branch of FCA Bank.

Merli’s responsibilities expanded in January 2021 when she was put in charge of the Belgian branch of Leasys. In August 2022, she took over as the Country Manager of the Dutch branch of FCA Bank while continuing her role as the Country Manager of the Belgian branch of FCA Bank.

Nathan is a successful Asset Finance professional with over 20 years’ experience in the industry. After spending 15 years with Wesleyan Bank as Sales Director he moved to Metro Bank in 2015 to lead their asset finance business.

Over 5 years he was instrumental in growing Metro Bank’s asset finance balances.

Nathan is also chair of The Leasing Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that supports the business finance sector through innovation; the development of young people; and diversity and inclusion.

John Phillipou is Paragon Bank Managing Director of SME Lending and has recently taken over as Chair of the FLA.

His finance industry experience started 30 years ago in a branch of NWS Bank and progressed through roles at the Captive, JCB Finance and then internationally with Citicapital and Deutsche Leasing Group, where he was Managing Director of the international division.

These experiences have given him detailed insights into the various types of lenders in the industry, together with the many routes to market models lenders operate for both regulated, non-regulated B2C and B2B transactions.

Previously he has chaired the Asset Finance Division of the FLA and been the UK representative at Leaseurope on behalf of the industry.

He then moved to Close Brothers Asset Finance in February 2013 as a Project Support Officer before transitioning to the role of IT Project Manager at Close Brothers from September 2013 to July 2015.

In August 2015, he became a Senior IT Project Manager at Close Brothers Asset Finance and Leasing until January 2016. From January 2016 to January 2018, Andy served as the Application Services Manager at Close Brothers Asset Finance and Leasing.

Andy joined Simply Asset Finance in January 2018 as an IT Manager and later became the Head of Technology in January 2019.
