Mark started his career in finance in 1984 with Lloyds Bowmaker.
He set up his own lease brokerage in 1988 which he sold in 1991. He joined Anglo Leasing in London and in 1993 joined Lombard as Sales Director, Business Equipment Finance. This was sold to First National where he was also Sales Director until it was sold to Abbey National.
He was Head of Business Equipment Leasing to 2005 when the Abbey Businesses were sold to ING. Mark was Executive Director on the UK Board and was instrumental in building the business from a low start to market leader.
ING was recognised as the business to aspire to both in terms of systems and service delivery and relationship management. It was closed by ING in 2012 writing over £1billion a year in new business with a £3.5billion portfolio.
Mark joined Shire Leasing in 2013 as MD. Mark is well known in the industry and has played an active role at the Finance and Leasing Association, chairing the Technology Group for 3 years.
Mark can look back over more than 30 years in the asset finance industry, including 15 years of experience in European asset finance operations.
Mark has been a driving force behind the growth of Shire’s own book portfolio which now stands at £166 million and holds overall responsibility for Shire’s P & L and longer term business strategy.
