The future of credit

Keynote Broadgate 1 and 2
Cf Consumer finance

Summary of the main findings to-date of ongoing FLA research that has been triggered by the UK Government review of the Consumer Credit Act.

  • What customers think of consumer credit products;
  • how they use them;
  • and what improvements could be made for the future.

The review of the Consumer Credit Act has the potential to transform, almost certainly for the better, the way in which the industry operates. This is an important opportunity which we should not miss.

The FLA’s research will be used to inform the debate and to provide evidence that adds weight to the feedback the industry provides to UK Government.

The results of discussions between industry and government will not only impact those firms who provide consumer finance, it is likely also to affect the wider industry including corporate finance and SME finance.
