Emma is a Managing Associate in the Data, Privacy and Cybersecurity team. She advises on a wide range of data protection, cyber security and e-privacy matters for many different clients. She is well-known as an expert in her field, having been recognised as a “key lawyer” in the Legal 500 UK and named as one of the UK’s top 25 up and coming female lawyers under 40 by Law.com International in 2021.
Emma’s experience covers the full range of data protection issues, including GDPR compliance programmes and audits, data processing and data sharing arrangements, data incident management, international data transfers, data subject rights requests, data protection by design, direct marketing, cookies and adtech, biometrics and AI. She is experienced in advising both businesses and public sector bodies in a pragmatic way that helps organisations to make the most of the data they hold whilst ensuring that they comply with relevant legislation.
Emma regularly speaks at high-profile data protection conferences and contributes to privacy journals, as well as providing client training and chairing panel discussions on a range of subjects, including AI and data ethics, in which she has a particular interest.
